Job summary
We are looking for a compassionate and reliable Health Care Assistant to join our Chemotherapy DayUnit team, on a fixed term contract covering maternity leave. This is a fantastic opportunity to develop your clinical skills in a specialist oncology setting, working closely with a supportivemultidisciplinary team. You will play a key role in supporting patients through their treatment, taking observations, and assisting with phlebotomy, all while delivering the highest standard of personcentred care. If you have excellent communication skills, a caring nature, and want to build your experience in cancer care nursing, we would love to hear from you.
Main duties of the job

Job summary
This exciting opportunity working 3 days a week on a fixed term contract, term time only, within our complex needs service based at Swiss Cottage Special School for Children and Young People aged 4-19 years.
The Camden Complex Needs Speech and Language Therapy Team work within specialist provisions in the borough of Camden, including Swiss Cottage School, an OFSTED rated 'Outstanding' school for Children and Young People (CYP) with complex needs aged 4-19 years and primary school Additionally Resourced Provisions (ARPs). You will be responsible for delivering a therapy service to CYP with complex needs in Camden. You will be a valued member of a multidisciplinary team based at the school which consists of speech and language therapists, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, dieticians, school nurses, health care assistants, paediatrician, psychologists, teachers and teaching assistants.
You will be responsible for delivering a comprehensive and specialist service to CYP with complex communication needs which may include autism, cerebral palsy, profound and multiple learning difficulties and sensory impairments.

Job summary
The Whittington Hospital NHS Trust is seeking to appoint a Junior Clinical Fellow in critical care. They would commence 2nd November 2026 (Subject to pre-employment checks being completed) and finish on 30th April 2027 . This posts is not recognised for training by the Postgraduate Dean however the successful candidate will have teaching and training equivalent to those in training posts. This post is a fixed term contract, but extension may be agreed.
For the successful candidate this job will provide excellent exposure to Critical Care. The successful applicant will have a named Clinical Supervisor who will also provide career advice and support for onward career progression. There is a weekly ITU teaching program and other training opportunities are available within the Trust, which you will be encouraged to attend. Doctors not in training are also able to apply for study leave and associated expenses.
Duties involve day-to-day clinical management of patients on the 11-12 bedded adult Critical Care Unit which has 700 admissions a year, as well as supporting the Critical Care Outreach service. These appointments are to enable us to continue running a 9-person rota, with 7 of these posts in recognised training programmes. The Unit is fully covered by Consultant Intensivists in a dedicated Critical Care rota.

Main duties of the job
DUTIES OF POST
- Assessment & clinical management of critically ill patients both within the ICU and across the wider hospital who are referred for assessment, admission and on-going care.
This includes prompt review of referrals from ED or the ward teams at night as the Critical Care Outreach nurse service only operates 8am-8pm 7 days a week
- Timely discussion with senior supervising colleagues regarding appropriateness of admission, unexpected deterioration and suitability for discharge.
- Familiarity and competence at common procedures is expected (vascular access, chest drain insertion etc) but supervised training is also given for other procedures eg arteria line, central venous access, percutaneous tracheostomy. Airway support is provided by the on-call Anaesthetics team for ICU doctors without anaesthesia or airway skills.
- Direction, guidance, supervision & teaching of more junior ICU trainees including for practical procedures.
- Organisation of appropriately detailed patient hand-over both at shift changes including current clinical condition of patients under review outside of the ICU.
- Written and verbal handover to ward team for patients stepping down to ward care
- Updating of clinical records, electronic & paper data & audit systems including the ICU activity database
- Communication with families & relatives of patients to update them on patient progress.

Job summary
The post holder will be joining the award winning Camden Learning Disabilities Service as part of an integrated community team. This post is covering 8 months of maternity leave and would be supervised by a senior SLT.

Job responsibilities
Clinical
1. To demonstrate an ability to implement interventions across a range of settings including the home, nursery and family hub settings
2. To upskill the Early Years workforce in identification of needs and support for the development of communication in the under fives.
3. To demonstrate specialist clinical expertise in the assessment, treatment and management of language and communication problems in young children, providing appropriate universal and targeted support.
4. To demonstrate specialist knowledge in this clinical area underpinned by current evidence based practice and outcome measures
- To use / apply specialist knowledge to inform sound clinical judgements/decision making for around care pathways.
- To demonstrate an understanding of how to develop and differentiate and develop communication friendly environments.
- To provide advice to others regarding the management and care of children with a wide range of SLCN.
- To work closely with children, carers and families, to support the development of speech , language and communication skills.
- To deal with initial complaints sensitively, avoiding escalation where possible
- To employ excellent communication skills.
- To demonstrate skills in motivating children, carers and practitioners to engage in the interventions, targets and outcomes.
- To employ skills in project planning and implementation
- To maintain sensitivity at all times to the emotional needs of children in particular when imparting potentially distressing information regarding the nature of the children difficulties and implications of the same.
- To demonstrate the ability to manage children with challenging behaviours including the application of appropriate management strategies as designated by the commissioning provisions.
- To monitor and review the progress of children against the targets set and agreed, and to modify targets as appropriate.

Liaison and Teamwork:
- To contribute to the function of clinical teams both multi disciplinary and uni disciplinary by discussing own and others input around childrens needs ensuring a well co-ordinated care plan.
- To liaise and share information with health, educational and other professionals as appropriate, observing data protection guidelines
- To contribute to meetings, Team around the Child , case conferences and multi-agency team meetings, as appropriate, contributing to inter-agency / multi-agency team building and policy development where appropriate, e.g. education, social services and the voluntary sector.
- To provide clinical placements for under graduate, post graduate and MSc students as required.
- To undertake any other duties as required by the Borough Lead, which may include a change in workplace.
Administration
1. To carry out administrative duties including activity data collection, updating this accurately and regularly, ensuring the provision of such information promptly within local Trust guidelines
2. To be responsible for the security, care and maintenance of equipment ensuring standards of infection control and safety are maintained including equipment loaned to clients
Personal and Professional Development
- To participate in annual appraisal ensuring that the objectives set reflect the Service and organisational plans.
- To attend specialist short courses and advanced training in order to maintain and develop skills and knowledge required of a specialist SLT working in this field and maintain up to date HPC and RCSLT registration
- To contribute to team meetings and participate in in-service training as required

- BSc. in Speech and Language Therapy or equivalent (including Dip. CST)
