The role will involve providing reception cover, managing patient appointments, maintaining accurate records, processing referrals, handling telephone enquiries and supporting the day-to-day operational running of the service. The post holder will be expected to work flexibly to provide administrative support where service demand requires, ensuring continuity of service during periods of annual leave, sickness absence, vacancies and peak activity. They will act as a first point of contact for patients, relatives and healthcare professionals, providing a professional, courteous and sensitive service at all times.

Job summary
Job overview We are delighted to be able to offer an opportunity for a highly motivated, ambitious individual to join the Intensive Care Medicine team at The Princess Alexandra Hospital NHS Trust. This is a 1-year fixed term Specialty Doctor role, in line with the Specialty Doctor Contract 2021. The successful candidate will work within our on-call rotas covering Intensive Care. There will be the opportunity to cover elective surgical lists across the spectrum of clinical anaesthesia in a district general hospital during their time within the department. The duties will include assisting with the care of the patients on the ITU and on-call work, including resuscitation calls. There is the possibility to undertake a full range of obstetric anaesthesia pre, intra and post-operative management of surgical patients within the anaesthesia team during the day, as the rota allows if the successful candidate also has qualifications within anaesthesia. This post will offer training opportunities as per the Royal College of Anaesthetists and the Faculty of Intensive Care Medicine training guidance.

Main duties of the job Provide expert clinical care in Critical Care Medicine, including managing a 10 bedded busy ICU and HDU department and on-call services. Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and case discussions in hospital and community settings. Engage in clinical audit, quality improvement, and research activities. Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation. Collaborate with colleagues across departments and external partners.
