Job summary
Pennine Care NHS Foundation Trust is seeking to make a substantive whole time appointment to this newly established post with Oldham Mental Health Services. This post will cover the Central sector within the Oldham area. The post has been created due to the current consultant moving to another job in the trust.
The Oldham general adult psychiatry service (generally for people aged 16 to 64) has been run since 2008 according to a model whereby our team of consultants are deployed as follows: Three consultants work exclusively in the community and outpatient focus areas, one working with the Early Intervention Service, and two inpatient area including Home Treatment and two A&E Liaison Team. Also one consultant in Living Well.
Within this arrangement, the consultant appointed to this post will work with other sector consultants (East, West and South sector community outpatients).

This is a newly created post. The Consultant will cover thecentral sectorwithin the Oldham area.This is an exciting time to join the Trust and there are many opportunities to contribute to the organisations' innovation and for personal development.
Oldham borough has a new state of the art TMS suite. This is the only NHS provider for this service in the North West.
Oldham has a very strong teaching commitment and candidates will be expected to contribute to the teaching of medical and nursing staff. There are close links to ongoing research projects such as Bright Mind, FreshSTART, Gamechange to name a few.
The Consultants contribute to local service user & carer groups.The Central sector covers the areas of South and East Oldham (Chadderton; Royton and Shaw; Delph, Uppermill, Lees, Ashton Under Lyne).
Patients will be seen in hospital and community clinics, at their own homes or in other clinical settings according to clinical need.
Outpatient clinics are held at the Cherrywood Clinic on the Royal Oldham Hospital site and at the Werneth Primary Care Centre. Werneth Primary Care Centre is 1.5 miles from the hospital.
The consultant in this post will work with the East, South and West Sector CMHTs and also with the Care Management and Review Team, which is a sub-team working across both CMHTs and which supports people with more stable but long term mental illnesses.

The Greater Manchester Resilience Hub is a unique, all age, psychology led, trauma informed, partnership focused portfolio of services, established after the Manchester Arena Attack in 2017.
The Critical Incident and Trauma Service (CITS) offers specialist trauma advice,consultation, assessments and interventions following major incidents and to GM health and care staff experiencing incidents, trauma and vicarious trauma at work. The offer is hosted by Pennine Care NHS FT is for systems, teams and individuals.
Main duties of the job
o Ensure the systematic provision of a high-quality specialist trauma service.o To work with people of all ages, including professionals, in GM impacted by major incidents and other traumatic events.o Offer highly specialist trauma informed consultation, assessment and NICE approved therapeutic interventions for individuals and teams. o Support service users to access appropriate treatment, including making referrals on their behalf to mental health services across the UK.o Develop and take responsibility for a range of interventions including 1:1and group interventions.o Provide highly specialist advice and consultation to other professionalsinvolved in supporting people affected by incidents.o Take a lead in supporting the development of the CITS service and the wider portfolio of the GM Resilience Hub in becoming a GM centre of excellence in the care of those experiencing psychological difficulties as a result of involvement in a major incident or other trauma; this includes deputising for the clinical lead.o Take a lead in any incident and major incident responses.o Take responsibility for the management of, supervision of and development of qualified and unqualified staff within the CITS service.

You will monitor and evaluate treatment offered to service users adhering to professional and Trust guidelines and using routine outcome measures related to service development and reporting. Main duties of the job
This is a busy multi-disciplinary CAMHS team which includes nurses, psychologists, social workers and psychiatrists. A key focus of the service leadership team will be implementing transformation that ensures timely access to high quality care. Our vision is for our local community to be well equipped to support the young people of Oldham to grow up with good emotional health and wellbeing. We work closely with our partners in education, children's services and the 3rd sector to achieve the recently developed ambitious Local Transformation Plan for CAMHS services. This plan provides us with the guide and resources to begin delivering our vision of having CAMHS workers available in new ways, and working closely with children's universal and targeted services in each of our locality areas.
