1 x Service Manager (Clinical)
Band 8a | Work and Health Team | Birmingham, Wolverhampton and hybrid working
We are seeking an experienced registered healthcare professional to lead the clinical model for WorkWell, an early-intervention service supporting people whose health is placing their employment at risk, or who have recently left work because of ill health. You will make work as a health outcome central to delivery, ensuring participants receive evidence-based, person-centred assessment and coordinated support to remain in, return to or move towards good work.
What you will bring
You will be a registered nurse, mental health or learning disability nurse, or Allied Health Professional, with substantial specialist knowledge of vocational rehabilitation and experience of leading complex clinical service development across organisational boundaries. You will combine credible clinical leadership with strong programme delivery, analytical and influencing skills, and be able to translate evidence into practical pathways, standards and improvements. A commitment to reducing health inequalities, involving service users and working collaboratively across systems is essential.
This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a high-profile pilot programme supporting the interface between work and health, while working with partners across the health and care system to improve outcomes for people, communities and services.
Main duties of the job
Your key delivery objectives:
Establish the clinical model: develop a consistent cluster-wide multidisciplinary approach, including vocational rehabilitation and effective links with Occupational Health, primary care and community services.
Embed safe, high-quality practice: implement robust clinical governance, safeguarding, escalation, supervision, audit and continuous-improvement arrangements across all delivery partners.
Integrate pathways: position WorkWell within neighbourhood health teams and build clear referral and onward-support routes across health, employment, local authority, employer and VCSE services.
Deliver measurable outcomes: improve participant access, experience, wellbeing, work retention and return-to-work outcomes, using performance insight and feedback to address inequalities and improve the service.
Build clinical capability: coordinate training, provide specialist advice and strengthen confidence among clinicians and partners in work-focused conversations and interventions.
Provide delivery assurance: maintain grip on quality, activity, risk, milestones and resources; hold partners to account and ensure delivery remains on time, within budget and aligned to agreed standards.

The Kingston Hospital Liaison Psychiatry service has been established over a number of years, and since 2015 has provided a 24/7 service.
The Older Adult Psychiatry specialists are integrated with the clinicians providing services to working age adults. Job description
Job responsibilities
The Kingston Hospital Liaison Psychiatry service has been established over a number of years, and since 2015 has provided a 24/7 service.
The Older Adult Psychiatry specialists are integrated with the clinicians providing services to working age adults. This model ensures that colleagues in the general hospital have a single point of referral, and that expertise in old age psychiatry and general adult psychiatry are shared within the team.
For the person appointed to this Consultant post, it will be particularly important to be willing to work across the whole over-18 age spectrum at times, while taking the clinical lead with patients who are over 65 (the group targeted by the older adults practitioners).
The post-holder will provide section 12 cover for the acute hospital between 9am and 5pm in the general hospital. This is shared with the other Consultant and the Associate Specialist in the team.
The post-holder would lead on providing S.12 cover for the ED and AAU working age patient presentations, unless the consultants are providing cross- cover for each other. The Older Adults Liaison Consultant would lead on providing S.12 cover for that age group presentations in the acute hospital.
The three senior clinicians in the team provide joint teaching to medical students, junior doctors and nurses.
This timetable may be changed in consultation with the Clinical Director in accordance with the Job Plan and Trust Clinical Governance Procedures.

You will provide specialist clinical input to people referred to the service and work closely with the multidisciplinary teams supporting this patient group. Alongside direct work with patients and their families, you will contribute to staff training, consultation and supervision.
About us
The Clinical Health Psychology Service is a team of psychologists who support people to adapt to physical health conditions and develop practical, creative ways of living well. The service operates across three geographical areas: Dudley, Wolverhampton, and Sandwell and West Birmingham, with a range of contracts in each area.
We provide psychological input to stroke services across all three areas. You will therefore join a wider team of psychologists working across services for people affected by stroke and other neurological conditions, with access to robust supervision and professional support.
Psychological professionals form a large professional group within Black Country Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust, providing access to wider support, learning and development opportunities beyond the Clinical Health Psychology team.
The post will be based at Rowley Regis Hospital. Depending on service needs, the successful applicant may occasionally be asked to support other parts of the stroke service. Full clinical and operational support will be provided should this be required.

CLCH Hertfordshire Adult Community Services - CLCH NHS Trust provides a range of Community Services, and the Hertfordshire Division is recruiting!
We are seeking a Band 6 Specialist Speech and Language Therapist to join our dedicated and supportive team on a fixed term basis until October 2027.
You will work with adults in their own homes and outpatient clinics across West Hertfordshire, supporting people with a range of medical conditions and acquired communication and swallowing disorders, including voice difficulties. Working across a varied caseload will give you the opportunity to further develop your knowledge and expertise in acquired speech, language and swallowing disorders.
Dysphagia competencies and experience of managing dysphagia are essential to this role.
As this is a community-based role, with travel between patient homes, there is a requirement to hold a full, valid, UK driving licence and have access to a car to use for business purposes (unless you have a disability as defined by the Equality Act 2010).
Main duties of the job
You will manage adults with acquired communication and swallowing needs across clinics, care homes and patients' homes in West Hertfordshire. You will book patients from the waiting list, plan follow-up appointments and reviews, attend Speech and Language Therapy team meetings and work closely with the multidisciplinary team and other professionals, including writing clinical reports.
You will independently complete specialist assessments, use your clinical knowledge to make appropriate decisions and differential diagnoses, and develop evidence-based care plans covering treatment, advice, review, discharge and communication with patients, carers and colleagues. You will adapt care plans as patients' needs and goals change and determine when individual or group therapy is most appropriate.
You will also assess the need for communication equipment, including high- and low-tech aids, coordinate trials or purchase where appropriate, support patients and carers to use equipment, and support Band 5 Speech and Language Therapists.
About us
We are proud to be one of the largest community healthcare providers in the country, with more than 4,500 colleagues caring for over four million people across London and Hertfordshire. Every day, our teams bring their skill, compassion, and determination to the people who depend on us.
What inspires us is at the heart of who we are: when we work together, we can help people move forward in ways that truly matter. Our teams support children as they take their first steps in life, and they stand beside adults as they rebuild strength, confidence, and independence. From newborn health visiting to community nursing, stroke rehabilitation, and palliative care, we are there for people through some of life's most important moments.
Joining Central London Community Healthcare means becoming part of a community that lifts each other up. It means working in an organisation that values compassion, welcomes new ideas, and believes in the potential of every colleague. Your development matters here. Your wellbeing matters. Your voice helps shape the future of the care we provide.
We offer a competitive employment package because the work you do matters. At Central London Community Healthcare, you will join an inclusive organisation that invests in its people, supports development, and helps you thrive while delivering high-quality care.
