The post-holder is responsible for providing holistic welfare support to ensure programme outputs are delivered effectively.

The post holder will take a lead on all specific welfare or aspects of the Armed Forces Programme.

Responsible for day-to-day delivery, and subsequent performance management, adjusting plans as required to ensure that risks and issues are mitigated across the welfare spectrum.

The post holder will work with clinicians and managers to ensure provision of the best possible staff and patient experience and service delivery.

Main duties of the job

This post provides advanced head and neck surgery training and would suit a trainee at the end of their training scheme wanting further exposure to the full remit of head and neck surgical oncological techniques as well as advanced salivary gland and thyroid surgery, prior to becoming a consultant head and neck surgeon.

GSTT Head and Neck Cancer Centre as the tertiary head and neck cancer centre for the South East London Cancer Network treats over 430 new head and neck cancers a year, with surgical treatments varying from trans oral laser resection to complex cases requiring free tissue transfer performed on a single site. Multi-disciplinary team working with thoracic, lateral skull base and plastic surgeons facilitates a supra-regional revision thyroid, lateral skull base and salivary gland service. The main emphasis of the post is in ablative surgery however ample opportunity exists for exposure to head and neck reconstructive surgery.

The candidate will be expected to carry out research and audit projects and will be encouraged to present them in national and international meetings as well as mentoring and teaching of junior staff.

The core components of this Fellowship include: Transoral Robotic Surgery, weekly Head and Neck Oncology MDT meetings, regular H&N 2 week-wait, audit and clinical research. There will be an opportunity to gain extensive experience in the diagnosis and treatment head and neck cancer with particular emphasis on exposure to Transoral Robotic Surgery. Job summary

This post would suit trainees wishing to pursue a career in transplantation, general surgery or urology. It provides an excellent opportunity to expand knowledge in pre/post-operative management of surgical patients in a busy transplant environment and to develop basic general surgical/vascular/urological technical skills. Those wishing to improve their academic portfolio will be supported to do so.

The post will incorporate ward and on-call commitments as well as theatre and outpatient commitments. There will be an opportunity to work on Audit or a Quality Improvement project. The post will therefore suit individuals who wish to develop these areas. The postholder will be supervised by a Transplant Surgery Consultant as well as the Transplant medical team with whom they will be working closely.

Main duties of the job

Clinical:

The post holder will, along with other junior colleagues be responsible for:

a. Diagnosis and treatment of patients of the Guy's & St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust in such hospitals, health centres or clinics or other premises as required

Proposed timetable:

The exact time table would be determined after discussion with Clinical Lead for Transplant to consider the educational needs of the post holder along with those of other junior surgical colleagues. However broadly speaking it would involve the following:

• Participation in Consultant led ward rounds
• Participation in at least one transplant or surgical clinic a week
• Attendance at 2 in-patient theatre sessions per week

Clinical sessions will involve pre- and post-operative assessment of dialysis access, transplant urology and general surgery patients.

On call commitment:

The post holder will undertake a 1 in 10 (or higher) on call rota. This will be resident on call. This will involve covering dialysis and transplant patients based at Guy's & St Thomas sites and may involve travel for organ retrievals. The Department of Nephrology and Transplantation at Guy's is one of the largest in the UK, providing kidney care to South East London, neighbouring areas of Kent and the Channel Islands. In addition, we receive a significant number of complex referrals from a much wider geographical area. The ACHD unit is one of the largest dedicated services of its type providing care for over 10,000 patients with an active transition program of over 500 new patients per year. It fulfils all components of a supra-specialist centre and has a full range of comprehensive tertiary facilities. The unit has an active interventional and surgical programme including advanced interventional techniques such as trans-catheter pulmonary valve implantation. Job summary

Applications are invited for the post of Preterm Clinical Fellow (ST4+ equivalent) in Obstetrics & Gynaecology at Guys and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust.

There is 1 full-time positions available fixed term for minimum 12 months.

The Preterm Clinical Fellow will be based in the preterm team at St Thomas' Hospital.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be based with the preterm team at St Thomas' Hospital. They will assist in running the preterm clinic all day Wednesday. Working in collaboration with the 3 preterm consultants, they will be expected to become competent to provide expert advice regarding inpatients on the antenatal ward and on the Hospital Birth Centre. The post holder will work to align the goals for preterm prediction, prevention and preparation outlined in the Saving Babies Lives care Bundle v3 (SBLCBv3) and the BAPM Framework for extreme prematurity. They will become competent in the insertion of transvaginal and transabdominal cerclages. It is anticipated that they will undertake quality improvement projects within the service and this will be worked up together with their supervisor. The post holder will also be supervising KCL BSc students with their ongoing projects. It is anticipated that this may be used as a stepping stone to pursue a MD/PhD in preterm birth.

The post holder will do an all-day theatre list once a month for the insertion of transabdominal cerclages. They will also be available to undertake emergency cerclages during the weekdays.

Job summary

This 12-month Junior Research Fellowship provides a combined clinical and academic opportunity within the Guy's and St Thomas' Thyroid & Head and Neck Cancer Unit. It would suit an early-career doctor with an interest in Otorhinolaryngology, Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Head & Neck Surgery and/or surgical oncology who wishes to develop experience in head and neck cancer alongside a structured programme of clinical research.

The Fellow will gain supervised clinical experience through specialist Head & Neck clinics, operating theatres, multidisciplinary team meetings and ward-based care, while undertaking protected research activity within the Unit.

A major component of the post will be participation in the Unit's active clinical research, audit and innovation programmes. Opportunities will include contributing to and, where appropriate, leading prospective and retrospective clinical studies, clinical data collection and database development, audit and quality improvement, study delivery, data analysis, preparation of abstracts and manuscripts and presentation of work at national and international meetings. The Fellow will be encouraged to become involved with existing projects leading towards peer-reviewed publication.

Main duties of the job

The Fellowship is under the supervision of Mr Asit Arora and Mr Ricard Simo who are the Lead Educational Supervisors for the post. The Fellowship includes all aspects of Advanced Head and Neck Surgery with emphasis on Head and Neck Oncological Surgery. The Unit has a large tertiary referral base for Complex Head and Neck Oncological Surgery including Salvage Surgery, Robotic Surgery, Thyroid and Salivary Gland Cancer. The Unit also provides a tertiary referral base for complex Thyroid Surgery including revision and mediastinal surgery, malignant skull base surgery, complex head and neck skin cancers and surgery for TMJ disorders and osteoradionecrosis. Core components of the Fellowship include: Full weekly Head and Neck Oncology and Thyroid MDT meetings, ablative and reconstructive surgery, complex thyroid and salivary gland surgery, airway surgery, revision and salvage surgery, regular audit and clinical research

The posts are fixed term for 12 months and is based at Guy's Hospital where the Head and Neck Surgery Cancer Unit is established.

A Timetable of an Average Week can be shared with shortlisted candidates.

Job summary

This post mirrors the Interface Head and Neck Fellowship and is recognized by the Royal College of Surgeons of England National Surgical Fellowship Scheme and it is suitable for post-CCST SpR's who are interested in obtaining further specialist experience before taking up a Consultant post. The post holder will have the opportunity to enrol in the IFHNOS Global On-Line Fellowship (GOLF) program including 7 written examinations and final oral examination. Upon successful completion, candidates may use the title of "IFHNS" after their name. Recognition that the fellowship program meets the highest international standards of training.

The successful candidates will be working with Mr Jean-Pierre Jeannon, Mr Richard Oakley, Mr Asit Arora, Aleix Rovira and Mr Ricard Simo on the Head and Neck firm and with the Oral and Maxillofacial Head and Neck Oncology Team under the supervision of Mr Mus Alibhai and Mr Raf Niziol. There will be opportunity to gain extensive experience in the diagnosis and treatment head and neck cancer, salivary gland and thyroid disorders as well as ample opportunity to carry-out clinical research in the relevant fields.

The posts are fixed term for 12 months and is based at Guy's Hospital where the Head and Neck Surgery Cancer Unit is established and weekly Multidisciplinary Head and Neck Oncology and Thyroid Meetings are held rotating every 6 months between 2 core unit firms.

Main duties of the job

The Fellowship is under the supervision of Mr Asit Arora and Mr Raf Niziol who are the Lead Educational Supervisors for the post. The Fellowship includes all aspects of Advanced Head and Neck Surgery with emphasis on Head and Neck Oncological Surgery. The Unit has a large tertiary referral base for Complex Head and Neck Oncological Surgery including Salvage Surgery, Robotic Surgery, Thyroid and Salivary Gland Cancer. The Unit also provides a tertiary referral base for complex Thyroid Surgery including revision and mediastinal surgery, malignant skull base surgery, complex head and neck skin cancers and surgery for TMJ disorders and osteoradionecrosis. Core components of the Fellowship include: Full weekly Head and Neck Oncology and Thyroid MDT meetings, ablative and reconstructive surgery, complex thyroid and salivary gland surgery, airway surgery, revision and salvage surgery, regular audit and clinical research
