Applications are invited for the post of Clinical Fellow Higher (ST3-5) in Stroke to cover a period of Maternity Leave, to commence asap until 04 May 2027.
Main duties of the job
The clinical duties of this post will involve rotation through the different components of Stroke Care including:
Management of Acute Stroke Unit (R2 Ward) Hyperacute assessment and care of acute admissions in A & E including assessment for and administration of Thrombolysis.
Stroke Rehabilitation ward - Lewin Rehab ward - which is adjacent to the Acute Stroke Unit.
Participation in the Neurovascular clinic(s).
Opportunity to attend specialist Stroke clinics.

The applicant must have demonstrable skills in listening, reading, writing and speaking in English that enable effective communication about medical topics with patients and colleagues, as set out in the GMC's Good Medical Practice (2013). An exciting opportunity has arisen within Laboratory Research Services (LRS) for a Medical Technical Assistant 2 to support the delivery of research studies across the Cambridge Biomedical Campus. Working under the supervision of the LRS team, you will contribute to a wide range of laboratory and administrative activities that support approximately 250 research studies each year.
The role involves processing and handling research specimens, entering and managing laboratory results, supporting study set-up activities, and assisting with invoicing and other administrative processes. You will play an important role in ensuring that laboratory support for research studies is delivered efficiently and to a high standard.
You will be expected to have a good understanding of laboratory sample handling and will be involved in receiving, processing, storing, issuing, and arranging the shipment of research samples. The role may also include maintaining basic laboratory equipment and supporting general laboratory operations.
We are looking for an organized and motivated individual with excellent communication, planning, and administrative skills. Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel.
Main duties of the job
- Receive, process, store, and distribute research samples.
- Enter and manage laboratory data and completed results.
- Support the set-up and administration of research studies.
- Assist with invoicing and other administrative activities.
- Arrange shipment and tracking of samples sent to external laboratories.
- Maintain accurate records in accordance with laboratory procedures.
- Assist with the maintenance of basic laboratory equipment.

Job summary
This role forms part of the Pharmacy Clinical Trials Team and involves medicines handling and administrative pharmacy duties associated with clinical trials support:
- Receipts, checks and distribution of medicines
- Completion and processing of trial documentation
- Data input and management
- Co-ordination of orders and prescription processing
Main duties of the job
1. Receipt of clinical trial medication, confirming if arrived in good condition and at correct temperature, acknowledging receipt on to the appropriate system, data entry on to the computer system, distribution of medication to the relevant section, accurate completion of appropriate logs.
2. Carrying out regular moving and handling tasks involved in duties described, including lifting, pushing, pulling, and transferring large boxes, containers, files and trolleys in accordance with training and risk assessments.
3. Participation in ongoing stock control systems for medicines used within trials including stock checks, stock rotation and quality checks. This includes using both computerised and paper-based stock control systems and the processing of documentation in accordance with audit requirements.
4. Participation in monthly expiry date checks for clinical trials medication and reporting to team.
5. Participation in clinical trial medications returns and destruction processing.
6. Checking temperatures of areas used for storage of clinical trial medication, generating data reports and checking the data reports for the monitoring system.
7. To maintain Pharmacy files to a high standard. This includes file preparation for new trials, receiving and appropriately filing trial related documentation, retrieving and collating documentation and producing reports required by research Sponsors.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Maternity Safety and Governance Team as a Risk and Governance Midwife at Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. Working closely with the Safety and Governance Lead Midwife, you will play a pivotal role in driving the maternity quality and governance agenda and supporting the delivery of safe, effective and compassionate care.
The post holder will provide expert leadership and advice on clinical risk management, oversee incident reporting and investigations, coordinate learning from adverse events, and support continuous service improvement across maternity services. You will work collaboratively with multidisciplinary colleagues to identify trends, implement action plans, promote best practice and ensure compliance with local and national standards. This role is ideal for an experienced midwife who has strong leadership skills, significant clinical experience and a keen interest in governance, risk management and patient safety. You will be confident in managing complex issues, leading investigations, supporting staff development and influencing positive change.Main duties of the job
To work with the Safety and Governance Lead Midwife in the delivery of the quality and governance agenda within Maternity via the development and implementation of the Clinical Risk Management Strategy. To provide leadership and advice on matters relating to clinical risk management and risk assessment in Maternity Services
