Are you passionate about using your lived experience to support and inspire others in their recovery journey?
We are looking for a skilled and experienced Lived Experience Practitioner to join the Specialist Psychotherapies Service. This unique role offers the opportunity to use your personal recovery journey to make a meaningful difference to people with Complex Emotional Needs, helping them build hope, resilience and confidence for the future.
A key part of the role will be supporting and co-facilitating our Moving On Group, helping service users as they transition from specialist therapy and continue their recovery journey. Working alongside a compassionate multidisciplinary team, you will contribute to creating a safe, supportive and psychologically informed space where people can reflect on their progress, strengthen coping strategies and move forward with greater confidence.
You will also contribute your lived experience perspective to service development, staff training and consultation, helping to ensure that the voices of people with lived experience remain central to the way services are designed and delivered.
This is an exciting opportunity to help shape and develop lived experience practice within a specialist mental health service while supporting others to achieve meaningful and lasting recovery.
Main duties of the job
As a Lived Experience Practitioner, you will use your experience of recovery to support people with Complex Emotional Needs within the Specialist Psychotherapies Service. Key responsibilities will include:
- Co-facilitating the Moving On Group, supporting service users as they transition from our Compassion Focused Group Programme and continue their recovery journey.
- Creating a safe, compassionate and recovery-focused environment that promotes hope, resilience and self-management.
- Sharing lived experience in a purposeful and professional way to inspire and support others in their recovery.
- Working alongside multidisciplinary colleagues to deliver psychologically informed and trauma-informed support.
- Contributing lived experience perspectives to service development, group delivery and quality improvement initiatives.
- Supporting staff understanding through consultation, reflective discussions and training where appropriate.
- Building effective relationships with colleagues.
- Maintaining accurate records, participating in supervision, and working within safeguarding, confidentiality and professional frameworks.
This is an exciting opportunity to help shape recovery-focused services while ensuring lived experience remains at the heart of specialist mental health care.
